Frequently Asked Questions

How do I care for Chamois hand block printed items?

All Chamois textiles in cotton and linen can be hand washed or machine washed using a short, gentle cycle for silk/wool.

  • 30 degrees for tablecloths.
  • 40 degrees for napkins, kitchen towels and other textiles
  • Items that are hand block printed should not be soaked for lengthy periods. Do not use a washing liquid or powder that contains bleach. Hang in the shade to dry (tumble drying is not recommended). Roll your textiles where possible and store them in a dry place out of direct sunlight.
Can I soak or bleach Chamois products?

No. Hand block-printed textiles should not be soaked for extended periods. Wash on a short, gentle cycle using a mild wool wash detergent, which is formulated to care for delicate natural fibres and printed fabrics. Do not use detergents containing bleach or optical brighteners.

How should I dry my Chamois textiles?

Hang your Chamois textiles to dry in the shade. Tumble drying is not recommended.

What is the best way to store Chamois textiles?

To preserve the beauty of your Chamois textiles, roll them, where possible, for storage and keep them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Can I stack my coloured glassware in the cupboards?

No. Because the Zafferano coloured glassware is handmade, each piece is unique in size and shape. They cannot be safely stacked without sticking together when packing away.

Can I pour boiling water into the coloured glassware?

Our handmade coloured glassware should not be subjected to sudden or extreme temperature changes, as thermal shock can cause the glass to crack or break.

Handmade borosilicate glassware is more heat resistant and can be used for hot beverages. For example, the Bilia Tea Cup is suitable for pouring boiling water directly into the cup when making tea.

How do I care for Chamois kitchen towels?

We recommend washing hand-printed tablecloths at 30°C and napkins, kitchen towels and most other textiles at 40°C using a short, gentle (silk/wool) cycle with a mild liquid detergent. Avoid bleach and tumble drying to help preserve the colour and beauty of the fabric.

Can I get a refund if I change my mind about a purchase?

We do not offer refunds for change of mind. We may, at our discretion, offer an exchange or credit note if notified within 24 hours of delivery. Items must be unused, unwashed, in their original condition and packaging, and suitable for resale. For hygiene reasons, table linens and textiles cannot be returned for change of mind.
