The world’s best linen originates in Europe. The flax plant, from which linen is made, thrives in the damp, rich soils of the European climate. These fibres give the linen textiles a characteristic texture. Their porous quality enables linen fabric to absorb and release moisture to remain cool and dry making it ideal for bed linen and towels.
Lovely Linens are made from 100% European flax and the high quality of the weave is evident in our finished products... designed in Sweden and made in Lithuania. Please note the new Misty linen woven checks and stripes are produced in India.
Linen’s natural lustre and soft texture only improves with use and age. These fantastic qualities, have made it the fabric of choice for thousands of years.
Our Lovely Linen is crafted from 100% natural fibres, which may result in slight colour variations between seasons. These differences occur due to the natural colour of the flax and variations in dye batches, adding to the unique charm of each piece. You may also find sizes differ slightly as the linen undergoes a special washing process to achieve the soft and naturally wrinkled finish.
Lovely and Misty Linens
Wash at maximum 60°C with a mild washing liquid or powder that doesn’t contain any bleach, even colour safe bleach is not appropriate. Wash similar colours together, then tumble dry lightly and gently (until slightly damp and then air off to dry for storing. If you don't have access to a tumble dryer, you can dry your linen on a drying rack. Shake and pull the linen afterward to make it even softer and more comfortable.
Classic and Rustic Linens
Wash at maximum 60°C with a mild washing liquid or powder that doesn’t contain any bleach, even colour safe bleach is not appropriate. Wash similar colours together, then hang to dry on a drying rack. Shake and pull the linen afterward to make it even softer and more comfortable. For Classic linens you can also iron or press them afterward to preserve the classic smooth look. Classic and rustic linen is not suitable for tumble drying.
Do not mix your linen items with other fabrics as linen is likely to shed fibres and leave lint for the first few washes. Ironing after the first wash will help bind the fibres and help reduce shedding. Please be aware over time Linen will fade when exposed to direct sunlight.
The best way to store linen is to roll it up instead of folding. The result is wonderfully soft linen, loaded with character just as it is supposed to be! A little wrinkle is a good thing!
Quality European linen is an investment and, if cared for properly, will last a lifetime giving you much joy and pleasure as it gets better with age and use. The more you live with and wash your Lovely Linens, the more beautiful they become.
All Sthål products are designed and created in the Sthål studio in Stora Råby near Lund Sweden by Susanna Theander and Helena Åkesson–Liedberg. Sthål aim for sustainability and maintain the highest quality standards.
All bowls, cups, plates and serving dishes are made of white stoneware clay which is fired in extremely high temperatures making it very practical and durable. Commercial production for all collections is in Portugal.
Sthål strive to make their products look and feel handmade. They choose glazes and use a number of different manual processes to achieve this, so you can expect to see slight variations from piece to piece. Intensity of colour and varying textures including small bubbles and a running off of the glaze from hand dipping... are all as
a result of the series of manual steps that create these unique and special finishes. Each piece is a unique work of art of a quality that will endure.
The SALON collection is made in terracotta which is high fired creating a durable, non porous finish to the vessel.
The Arabesque collection is all Oven to Table. So all products are microwave and oven safe up to 200 degrees however you should avoid sudden changes in temperature from hot to cold as this may damage the item.
All products are dishwasher safe to 60°C. Please take care when stacking the dishwasher to avoid overcrowding which may lead to damage.
With proper care your Sthål precious pieces will be with your family for years to come.
Civ’ita Ceramiche is renowned for its commitment to quality and creativity with their collections of handmade Italian ceramics. With a rich history
in the world of tableware production and a team of skilled artisans, Civ’ita Ceramiche offers unique ceramic pieces that will elevate any dining experience.
Civ’ita’s production is based in the industrial district of Gallese in Civita Castellana, Viterbo, which is a major centre for ceramic production in Italy. The area’s favourable geographic location, abundant natural resources, and skilled workforce have contributed to its prominence in the industry.
Gallese benefits from its proximity to clay quarries, ensuring a ready supply of high-quality clay, which is essential for ceramic production. The clay from this region is known for its exceptional properties, making it highly sought after by ceramic manufacturers.
The district’s infrastructure supports the entire ceramic production process, with modern facilities for kilns, workshops, and warehouses.
The collaboration between these businesses and the local community has fostered a strong sense of expertise, tradition, and innovation within the industry.
While the focus is on aesthetics, Civ’ita pieces are designed with practicality in mind and they are suitable for everyday use.
Civ’ita ceramics are made from white stoneware and can be used in the microwave and are oven for reheating but please bear in mind sudden changes in temperature from hot to cold may damage the piece.
All are dishwasher safe to 60°C. Please take care when stacking the dishwasher to avoid items banging together and overcrowding as this may lead to damage.
Items can vary in size and thickness and the handmade edging and decorations will be unique on each piece.
All Zafferano coloured glass collections are worked by hand or mouth blown. You can expect to see variations in colour, size, weight, texture and you may see air bubbles. These are all recognisable characteristics of handmade glassware, making each glass a unique piece of art crafted by a master glassmaker.
All Zafferano glasses need to be washed before use. We also recommend that you wash the glassware prior to storage as the handmade process may leave a film (greasy and with a slight odour). This is a normal characteristic of artisan glass and washes off easily.
All glasses are dishwasher safe to 60°C. As with all precious items care must be taken when stacking the dishwasher to avoid overcrowding.
Please note that Zafferano glassware should never be stacked inside each other as each piece is handmade and will vary in size and texture.
The Zafferano Collections of handmade glassware are designed in Treviso, Italy and manufactured in the EU, Thailand and China. Zafferano wine and bar glasses are made in EU and PRC and are machine made or mouth blown. Please refer to the individual product for further details.
The Zafferano dinnerware collections are made in Italy from stoneware. The pieces are machine formed and then hand painted which is a characteristic of the collections. Expect to see variations in colour and brushstrokes as each piece is unique.
The Zafferano portable lighting collections are designed in Italy and crafted in PRC to the highest quality standards. Zafferano leads the market in portable lighting solutions for both home and commercial spaces. Renowned for their innovative features and unique designs, these lights combine functionality with elegance. With a wide range of styles to choose from, there’s a perfect lighting solution for every application, adding both practicality and beauty to your space.
All lamps contain premium lithium batteries that will provide continuous light for more than 9 hours per charge. The batteries recharge like a mobile phone with a USB charger connection and you should expect to get at least 450 charges per battery. Replacement batteries are available to purchase and how to install videos can be easily found on Utube. Please refer to individual items for product specifications as these vary from model to model.
All Chamois textiles, clothing and accessories are designed in Sweden and hand printed in India.
Every item is hand block printed individually and is a unique work of art and will give you many years of enjoyment if cared for properly and treated with respect.
Variations of colour intensity and shade are to be expected due to the nature of how the dyes are mixed and used and the technique of hand block printing.
When machine washing use a short and gentle cycle for silk/wool maximum 30 degrees C. The length of the program is very important as the hand printed dyes should not be soaked in water for long periods of time. Use a gentle washing liquid or powder that is suitable for wool/silk that doesn’t contain any bleach, even colour safe bleach is not appropriate.
If you have a textile with gold or silver print make sure you wash each tablecloth separately in the machine. If the machine is full the textiles will rub on the tablecloth and this can cause the gold to rub off.
Hang the textiles to dry in the shade. Make sure you store your textiles in
a dry place away from direct sunlight. We do not recommend using a tumble dryer.
The trick to removing stains effectively is to act quickly. If the stain dries into the fabric it is more difficult to remove. As soon as possible put water on the stain to make sure it doesn’t dry. If you are having dinner this can be done during the dinner party. You can use a little stain remover like Vanish. Let it work for 20 minutes then rinse off
all the stain remover thoroughly with warm water. It is important to remove all the stain remover as it can bleach the printed colours if left on for more than 20 minutes. If the stain is still there, wash the tablecloth in the washing machine according to the washing instructions using a short programme.
Mix a little dishwater liquid with warm water and rub on the stain. Let it work for some minutes before you rinse the tablecloth in warm water to remove the soap. After this you can wash the textile in the washing machine according to the washing instructions if you still need to.
All Jeans Decor fabrics are hand screen printed onto a denim fabric base in the workshop located near Venice in Italy. The fabrics are all 100% cotton and can be machine washed.
Each piece is a unique work of art. Variations can occur in colour and design depending on which denim Flavio selects as his base. Intensity and depth of colour will vary as an outcome of hand screen printing.
The fabric is suitable for many interior design applications and Flavio is committed to reducing the environmental impact as much as possible by using non formaldehyde dyes and no bleach in the process so that the fibres and strength of the fabric is not compromised. Unfortunately natural or non chemical dyes have a very low resistance so a compromise has to be made to achieve the desired result for the finished product.
